REACH

Haiti
July 6 - 15

Love for L’Allemand is a non-profit Christian based organization that supports the educational and physical needs of our friends in L’Allemand, Haiti. L’Allemand is a small farming community in northern Haiti on the peak of a mountain. The community fights through different 3rd world injustices. Regardless of their living conditions, the joy and love of the community cannot go unnoticed. On this trip we will have the opportunity to share Christ’s love by teaching lessons and doing activities with kids, working with locals on service/building projects, and spending time fully immersed in Haitian culture learning about and experiencing a different way of life.

Taiwan
July 5 - 16

For the sixth year in a row, we are partnering with Team Expansion’s missionaries, Chad and Alicia Edwards, who are working throughout central Taiwan. The Crossing team will help facilitate the fun of the popular Sports and English Camp. This camp has helped change hundreds of lives and started house churches all over the island of Taiwan. No experience is necessary to lead Sports or English classes. The week-long camp is not only fun for the campers, but a great way for staff to grow closer to God and build friendships with the students. Sports and English Camp provides a safe place for students to hang out and be with their friends, all while spending time learning more about Christianity and having fun.

Poland
July 20 - 29

Since 1990, shortly after the fall of Communism in the country, Proem Ministries has been working to help share a message that has long been forgotten. With less than 50,000 Evangelical Christians in the whole country, there are plenty of opportunities for ministry. Proem has been effectively planting churches and running camps for years. The Crossing sends teams to work with Pastor Rafal and his team during their “Kontakt Festival,” where Proem takes over the city of Lodz, the third largest city in Poland. It transforms into a city-wide volunteer-driven serving opportunity. Teams come from around the world to participate in city-wide cleanup projects, renovations, and outreach during the day, and put on concerts every night at various venues. The purpose of this week is to give the city a positive contact with their ministry and the church as a whole.

Honduras
August 1 - 5

Workers of HOPE Coffee believe that it’s healthy to let the Honduran believers reach out and do the ministry side of HOPE Coffee but to have the US churches engage in encouraging the believers and farmers. Because of this, travelers will be working alongside coffee farmers and locals on building projects to encourage them and learn from them about their lives, country, and conditions. They will learn about coffee farming and the lifestyle that the locals live down there. The Crossing has been in a partnership with HOPE Coffee in Honduras for years. Applications are still being accepted for this trip.

Peru
August 3 - 12

Las Vegas Resident and Crossing attendee, Iliana Bustios, has been working in the barrios of Peru making a difference in the lives of young adults. Partnering with teams from The Crossing, as well as other churches and organizations, Iliana and her team are seeing lives changed and transformed through consistent relationships and investment in gang-ridden neighborhoods and communities. The team from The Crossing will work with Hope for Youth, a non-profit based in Huanchaco, Peru, to help continue to influence the lives of young adults towards community and away from the influence of the streets.

Dominican Republic
August 4 - 11

In 2018, we will be returning to Santiago (Dominican Republic) to work with our partners at Hope House International and some of their community partners. Travelers will prepare for the trip working through training sessions related to global poverty and cultural awareness. During the trip, the team will do a variety of projects like construction, kids camp, and community outreaches.

Ghana
August 1 - 10

Throughout Ghana illness and disease spreads due to a lack of understanding of healthy hygiene practices. Through your help, we will be able to provide education and training to individuals throughout Ghana on how to live a healthier life. The relationally driven trip provides an ideal opportunity for the first time and experienced travelers alike to help make an impact and build relationships with the Ghanaian people. The Crossing will be partnering with City of Refuge and The African Internship Training Center. City of Refuge is a home for about 40 children that have been rescued from a life of slavery in an area near Lake Volta. The team will also be working with The African Internship Training Center, which is a program that invites youth from Ghana who have aged out of foster homes, or living on the streets, to get them in a vocational program. They teach these kids new skills and trades to help them make money and also teach them the love and hope of Jesus that is being offered to them so they can experience a life with hope and prosperity rather than a life of alcoholism and poverty. If interested in this trip, you can be added to the waitlist.
